GSA 17, located in the Northern-Central Adriatic Sea, extends on an area of 92261 km². The MEDITS survey has been carried out in this region since 1994 and it was extended to the eastern side in 1996. It was conducted primarily during the second quarter of the year, with an initial sampling intensity of about 86 hauls per year (1994-2001) in the Italian side, 2 hauls and 48 hauls respectively in the Slovenia and Croatia sides. The sampling intensity changed since 2002 accounting for 120 hauls per year on the western side and 60 hauls per year on the eastern side. On average, 141 hauls per year were done in the whole time series. The survey was not carried out in 2022
